MSC Journalism Student Publishes Coloring Book
MORRISVILLE, N.Y.Danielle
George, 05, a recent graduate of the Journalism program
at Morrisville State College who was well-known on campus for
her newspaper cartoons, became a published author earlier this
year with the printing of a coloring book she wrote and illustrated,
Biscayne Underwater Park Coloring Book.
The book, which is for
sale at the Biscayne Park in Florida, includes original artwork
and a message for children that stresses the importance of maintaining
the coral reef as a valuable natural resource. George includes
the book on her Web site, found at http://www.daniellegeorge.net/
.
George, of Gloversville,
NY, was aided in her first publishing venture by Assistant Professor
of Journalism Brian L. McDowell, who owns Log Cabin Books, a
small, independent publishing company that handled the layout
and printing of the book.
George served as managing
editor, layout co-editor, and entertainment co-editor for The
CHIMES newspaper during the 2004-2005 academic year after spending
her freshman year as entertainment co-editor. She was named to
Whos Who Among American College Students and is a member
of Phi Theta Kappa, the national junior-college academic honors
society.
